The Dinner Date
“In Korea and China we have baby mice wine. It’s a cure for everything. You got asthma? Drink some baby mice wine. Bones ache? Nothing like baby mice wine.” The horrified WTF look on Imani’s face only egged him on. “We drown newborn mice in rice wine and it takes 12 to 14 months to ferment. Then it’s safe to drink.”
“How are dead mice ever safe to drink?”
He countered with, “Ah, but you Americans drink Tequila and swallow a worm.”
“Uh, sure. But I still think you’re punking me. I don’t think there’s any such thing as baby mice wine.”
“It’s true. Look it up on your phone, look it up on the Google.”
“I’m gonna do just that. You better not be messing with me.”
“Or what?” he challenged.
She pinched a crouton from her salad in order to throw it at him, but changed her mind after he kept laughing at her. No, she needed something else. Maybe a chickpea or a baby tomato bonking him right on the forehead would work.

Hui and Imani
I’m going to keep this short, since it’s all about Hui and Imani right now, as I’m focused on the marketing (ads and book trailer) prior to the release of this novel.

HUI news:
This book has been quite a journey. My research included ballet, the culture and history of North and South Korea, The Korean War and its aftermath, Korean food and drink (baby mice wine is real, y’all). In addition, balancing the erotic romance elements with real world issues gave me pause. Love can’t cure everything, but this is a romance, so I went for a HFN (happy for now) instead of a HEA (Happily ever after). What I hadn’t counted on was the lack of visuals to help inspire my scenes. When I write, I have to “see” the characters. And there just aren’t enough stock photos with sexy Asian males. Especially Asian males in romantic scenes with a black female. So I had to create my own:

With HUI done, I’m going to release Confessions of a Shapeshifter next, because Andre Santana’s origin story is in that book. Andre’s now part of my NIGHTSTALKERS series:

Oh Hell Naw, no fade to black here
NOT WITH THESE OH SO READY FOR PRIME TIME MALES:
Either one of the men below could be the face that launched a thousand ebooks. But finding a stock photo featuring a smoldering hot Asian male either means paying GETTY images an astronomical amount, or searching through stock image sites (which is what I’ve been doing) to find just the right model.
Here’s a naughty bit from my soon to released ebook HUI:

HUI news and character/cover updates
I’d decided to hold off releasing HUI because there were some things I wanted to work on, for example the deep cultural belief of Han and Jeong. I did a lot of research for this book, but I’m mindful that the love story has to progress without being bogged down. Still, there are some things that are vital to the Korean culture that can’t be glossed over.
I only hope I’ve struck enough of a balance for you, the reader.
I also decided to change the cover for the New Adult book TWENTY before 20. Here’s the new cover:
I made another change, this time with the character of Genysis from the scifi ebook Miss Brighton’s School for Exceptional Young Ladies, so the character on the cover will also change:
