RUSH – A Different Kind of Love Story

RUSH will be out any day now. I’ve created a few more promos with the title of the book strategically placed as a watermark on the first pix 🙂

I’d wanted to write a book that featured a refugee for a while, but the pitfall with a character like Aaliyah is making sure she’s not a Mary Sue.

In addition to researching the OMG (Outlaw Motorcycle Gang) lifestyle, the Somali Bantu culture and their Sunni Muslim religion took a great deal of time. I’m still re-checking facts, and I’m going to add a link to the book listing the reference material I used. I don’t want to inflate the page count on the book by adding all of it, but its important that readers realize I’m not just making a lot of this up. It also helps that I once worked at a refugee resettlement agency as well as teaching high school students.

I’d love to be able to post higher resolution digital art without a watermark, but there’s always a chance it would just be screen grabbed  without attribution or respect for the copyright laws.
