I’m busy editing new books and a few sequels. I’m also working on a new novella series:
I’ve also got March Madness starting on the 20th.
Here’s another IR image for my WSC Romance Image Gallery:
After I release HUI, I want to make sure I have other romance books lined up with Asian leading males, so I’ve been working on additional stories:
I’m also working on spin-offs for my African American witch series:
Little Big Men:
I’m jumping back into the NA genre with a duology about a small town and the jocks at the center of a suspense filled love story.
Honoring the Past:
Original Photo of a black woman during the Victorian period:
Listening to: Sade’s Kiss of Life and Mariah Carey’s Sweet Fantasy. I loved the movie BELLE
So I used the film as inspiration for a Gothic erotic romance that spans several time periods. Excerpts from Ivy League and the dark fantasy Long Ago and Far Away will be up shortly.
I really enjoy creating ebook covers by pairing interracial couples together. I’ve got a number of new excerpts to put up, but here are a few new things I’m working on. I’m still deciding whether to make certain books serials (release a few chapters at a time on Amazon) or complete novels.
I’m not going to put too many words to the promo photos I’ve created for the novel Hui. Hopefully they convey a bit of the love the two characters share in the upcoming ebook:
Meet Dane Kovak, the anti-hero lead of the novella UNFORGETTABLE
Dane and Jenelle from UNFORGETTABLE
While I love contemporary romance, I also enjoy writing historicals and scifi. But I really enjoy putting romantic leads together and describing their journey to couplehood. With sequels it’s important (imho) to maintain the love affair but still tell an engrossing story. As I prepare to release Razher II among a few other sequels, I hope readers will enjoy the twists and turns I’ve taken with the characters and their various stories. I’ve added a short excerpt from The Player at the end of this post.
I’m also introducing another continuing serial, one that deals with big cats and the fight between several royal houses to take the throne. I’ll have a GIF up shortly and also the first chapter. For new readers, please understand that I use my book covers as promotional materials. The same thing applies to the free excerpts on this site and the excerpts that have more chapters which are listed on Amazon as Sneak Peeks. These are just a few ways I’ve found that help readers discover WSC books.
I’ve added another character to the continuing college serial The Men of Hilton Hall. I’m introducing Rae in the next chapter of TMOHH that I will have up this week:
Now for the new offerings. I’ve been working on my digital editing skills in order to have covers that are a bit more stylish as well as sexier:
There are a number of sequels to RUSH which follow several characters and introduce new ones. First up will be Daniel Semboga’s love story:
Then there’s Rory and Roxie’s love story. Roxie’s an exotic dancer who assists Rory (from RUSH) after he finds out his late dad owned Wallbanger’s, the strip club that plays a central part in the mystery of Turk’s disappearance and several other murders:
Gauge and Keisha’s story concerns a threat to her life. She needs protection based on what and who she knows. He makes her laugh. Who knew loving a biker could be this fun? Or so dangerous?:
There’s also a love interest for Boner and two more characters, plus the continuation of the main couple, Aiden and Aaliyah’s tale.
I’m re-editing Razher: Rise of the Gargoyles and Gaijin’s ending
After I put up the post EACH ONE, REACH ONE I decided there was more I needed to do, besides putting links in the sidebar of this site.
So on this day remembering Martin Luther King Jr, I’m setting up a new site, one that I hope will become a one stop shop if a reader (or author) wants to peruse books with protagonists of color in all genres. The books won’t be sold on the site, but there will be links directing buyers and others to the websites where an author’s work can be purchased. I’m working on the new site now, on another browser. If you’d like to take a peek at what I’ve got so far, the site is
This is how I’m trying to set it up (columns, video set up, featured books slider)
Right now I mainly have place holders up. My hope is simply to become an asset for those without advertising budgets, or those new to self publishing, or those who aren’t listed on the front page of Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Maybe I can compile a decent database of authors and their novels. And I’ll have GIFs and book trailers up there also.
I’d also like to promote sites that review multicultural works, and those that interview authors of color. Hopefully, the site will be fully functional by February 🙂
With February coming up, each week next month I plan on posting a romantic excerpt from both my published and soon to be published novels. The sidebar title will be “The Tools of Seduction” where the main characters have a romantic encounter when the opportunity arises:
Motorcycle gang member falls for Somali Bantu refugee, in the ebook RUSH
Aiden’s RUSH excerpt:
He pulled onto my street, knowing those kids would hear the music and chase after his truck like he was the Pied Piper of ice cream. Dude was really a prick, ‘cause he always used our dead end to turn around, and each time he never stopped. But not today.
While the Scifi Sampler is live, the free download won’t kick in until tomorrow, Dec 19th. The excerpts will be free from the 19th until Saturday, Dec 21st.
This weekend I hope to have up multi-chapter excerpts from Razher, Rise of the Gargoyles, Gaijin and RUSH on Amazon.com
Download December starts this weekend (Dec 14th and 15th). New excerpts in several genres will be available for free on Amazon. In preparation I’m creating a number of GIFS that readers can use, which will also post on Saturday. Directions on how to save a Wikkid.Sexy.Cool GIF to your computer and using them in either an email or your own personal blog will be provided.
With every GIF you take (and use) you help promote Wikkid.Sexy.Cool. Where multicultural romance rules!
One more “gift” is an excerpt from a section of RUSH:
She made the first move.
I was replacing the spring plate on my bike’s kick stand when the wrench was blown clear outta my hand by a half flattened soccer ball. I got up from a squat, ready to do some serious butt kicking when I saw Aaliyah in the middle of the street.
“Sorry about that. Can you give us back our ball?” she said, not looking the least bit sorry. I don’t know where her father was, but she sure wasn’t wearing a headscarf or a long skirt. It seemed like she’d borrowed a pair of her brother’s shorts.
I love creating covers and promos. I learned Photoshop (my daughter was so patient with me 🙂 ) but I also work with Paint.net. The covers serve as both ads for upcoming releases, and to showcase the beauty and variety among of women of color.
The Stone Hero is the sequel to The Stone Boy. All the characters from The Stone Boy are back, and it gives me a chance to introduce a deaf Afro-Cuban teen named Trayvon Wilfredo Lima who has his own book:
Now, here’s a scene from Razher, Rise of the Gargoyles:
There’s a six chapter excerpt of The Stone Boy up on Amazon.com
It’s listed at 99 cents, however the free download will start on Friday, which means the release date of the full book has been pushed to next week.
I use these Sneak Peeks as a way to promote upcoming ebooks and also to spread the word on wikkid.sexy.cool.com
Now I’m working on the promos for QUEENSREALM, an adult scifi. Like all our novels, Queensrealm has a romance at the center of the story. I hope to have most of the promo material up by later in the day.
An excerpt of FURIES will be up this week.
Here’s a peek at a promo poster and mock-up cover for the steam punk novella Miss Brighton’s School for Exceptional Young Ladies:
First directive: Protect the humans
Second directive: Learn how to become human
I’ve made a change to the cover of JUKEBOX Volume II:
This was the previous cover:
Since the covers depict the primary characters (Eli, upper left, Simone upper right, Johnny in the middle) during the 70s, the new cover makes Johnny a bit more prominent.
JUKEBOX Volume II
With the 60’s coming to a close, Simone Westwood Burr is a nineteen year old superstar dubbed the “Siren of Soul” with her funky, cutting edge music. Now married to the ultimate bad boy of Southern Rock, she tries to juggle a career and being a new mother, Continue reading →
Writing YA and even Middle Grade is a constant challenge for me. So when I saw New Adult gaining steam, I jumped at the chance to create novellas that feature an older protagonist, but combined romance, race and topical issues.
Here’s a sneak peek at two that should be ready by February:
It was just supposed to be a fun night out. But when Nadia’s initially refused entry into the city’s hottest club, the experience becomes her worst nightmare. And when the handsome guy who intercedes is none other than the club owner’s kid brother, little does she know that her ranting tweets detailing how she was unfairly treated will divide a city, and also help her find out whether love really does conquer all. ©
He’s the hope of a small town football team determined to reach the state finals. And she’s the girl he’s been warned about.
For Alex Campos, becoming the starting quarterback of the Newcastle Coyotes means a second chance. So he’s not about to blow it by falling for the coach’s daughter. But Danni Ahmed’s not a girl who takes no for an answer, especially when their connection is so strong. And not after enduring the town’s obsession with football, until it nearly destroyed her. That’s why she’s determined not to let the same thing happen to the boy she loves. ©
Excerpts will be up the first week of February!
Please vote on the title of this novella after reading the book blurb:
A secret tryst results in an acclaimed portrait that ties a model forever with the artist.
Akeel’s a gifted artist who gets raves for his web site designs and graphic comics, only he can’t seem to win over Layla. He’s drawn to her in more ways than one, especially after Layla disrobed on a dare and let him paint her, and now it’s his best known work.
But Layla’s no longer the girl in that painting, the one where her voluptuous curves were proudly on display. After dropping over sixty pounds, guys who used to taunt her in high school now want to date her, and so-called friends are only too quick to remind her of how heavy she used to be.
Trapped between the snarky girl she once was and the femme fatale many assume she’s become, Layla’s not sure she’s ready to risk her heart again, even though Akeel’s more certain than ever that they belong together.©
