Updates on sequels and business moves
Excerpts from the sequel to Jukebox are almost done and I hope to have them up shortly.
JUKEBOX Volume II What’s surprising is how readers have responded to RAZHER.
Razher, the teen She-Wolf of Maori and African American heritage A bit of background on this novel. It was submitted to Alloy Entertainment (Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl) a few years ago and Alloy passed on it, but I always thought having a vampire who rises to Marvin Gaye and loves to dance, and pairing him with a Maori/African American she-wolf was a bit different than the usual paranormal stories. Adding more characters of color, like Andre Santana (Hispanic werewolf) and Havoc Xian (Chinese Gargoyle) plus an assortment of others might work if it found an audience.
And somehow, it has.
The release date for THE STONE BOY had to be pushed to next week, so I do apologize for the delay.
We’re doing location scouting for HEAVEN and trying to find the right dog(s) to play Myst.

The tentative release date for the book is August 21st, however, because its over 500 pages, I still need to delete some scenes. But I’m also thinking that putting some of the mythology of Djinns Vs. Vampires in the back of the book as an addendum might also be an option.

Devastatingly handsome, sexy as hell. A chick magnet, and he was hanging out at her restaurant. Thank you God. But he was scowling at her when he spoke. “Where were you yesterday?”
She wanted to say Excuse me? That’s none of your damn business. But she didn’t. That kind of courage wasn’t in her. Plus she needed this job. So she just smiled and shrugged her shoulders, pulling out her waitress pad to take his order.
He’d seen the flash of hurt in her eyes when he questioned her, so Julian’s tone was softer this time. “I was worried about you, so I made inquiries. They said you took the day off. Is everything well at home?”
“Um hum.”
What kind of answer was that? Julian sat upright, a huffy expression now on his face. He toyed with the eating ware that had been placed on the table. It was stainless steel, not the pure silver he was used to.
“Not to your liking M’lord?” she asked, smiling even broader at his pained expression.
Her god awful cockney accent, even in jest produced a deeper frown this time. “Aria, really, you must learn-” he began, as if about to give a student a stern lecture. He stopped in mid-sentence, realizing he was doing it again. Sounding too authoritarian. He shifted in his chair and his voice dropped to a whisper. “I’ll…I’ll just have coffee please. Espresso.”
Okay. Cool. She could work with that. Except… “Don’t you ever get hungry? I mean, you sit here all day but you never order any food.”
“Would you like me to?”

Paying it Forward
So, I tried to think of what I could do to help out other new authors, and I’ve decided to pay it forward with a review, because that’s something most authors want. Feedback from readers. I’ve already picked out the first book, and I’m reading it now. But not just one book, I’ve decided to concentrate on indie authors from a variety of genres. I may (or may not) list the reviews here, but in any event, I hope to help someone else’s career get running 🙂

Well, I’m chronicling the highs and lows of the behind the scenes with this book, and hopefully my experience can help anyone else who may want to self-publish. And since I don’t know how long this is gonna last, I plan on enjoying it while I can. Just to put things into perspective, I have to take the dog out and mow my lawn now 🙂
